Peter Bellamy and *The Transports* Ballad-opera

David and James,

Stumbled across this article about Peter Bellamy, a Norfolk folk-singer who composed a ballad-opera about the real life of a Norfolk couple of the 18th century, separated and rejoined to be exiled to Australia:

The article has several links to his songs, both in his own voice and covered by several others. I love this kind of stuff, such as the deepest back of backwoods singers. On friend has put it (not very nicely maybe) as 'The wider the gap between his teeth, the better I like it.'
